Imminent Storm Warning! Now is the time to prepare!

The National Weather Service is currently predicting a series of strong winter storms to hit our area beginning this Friday evening and last through the weekend.  The current forecast models are predicting significant amounts of rainfall.  Now is the time, while there is a break in the systems, to prepare your home, family and neighbors for the upcoming storms.  Some things to consider having in your emergency kit/plan - extra batteries for your flashlights, non-perishable food that you can prepare if the electricty goes out, make sure your cell phones are fully charged, if you have a land line have a corded phone available (if the power is out the cordless won't work), talk to your neighbors and have a plan.  Stay in touch with one another.  There are sand and bags available in Fairfax (at the Pavalion parking lot), San Anselmo (on Sunny Hills Drive - near the tennis courts), in Ross (at Natalie Coffin Green Park), and in Sleepy Hollow (at the clubhouse). Please also register for emergency alerts on www.alertmarin.org and www.nixle.com.  The creek levels can be monitored here on our website, as well as links to the National Weather Service.  Please remember do not go into flood prone areas to see the creek!  If flooding occurs in those areas, they are usually Flash Floods, which means there is little to no warning that they will be occuring and the water moves rapidly.
