9/11 Memorial Information

On Sunday, September 11, 2016, at 0659am, the Marin County Sheriff Communications Center will ring down all fire stations in Marin with a special message, and bells, with honor and respect of the 15th anniversary of 9/11/01.Please join us in front of our headquarters station, 777 San Anselmo Ave., San Anselmo, at6:55am, as we pay tribute to those fallen on 9/11. We will be standing next to our 9/11 Memorial, fronting Fire Station 19, which is a piece of steel from the Twin Towers that we received and dedicated on 9/11/11.

As the sun rises on this 15th Anniversary of 9/11, many of us will be spending time with familyon Sunday, both at home, at work and at the firehouse.

Some of us may be driving or traveling, yet all of us will surely remember where we were when we heard the news on 9/11/2001…a short, but distant 15 years ago.

May we never forget the place or time and the awe of it all, the unthinkable acts that were committed, the pain and suffering…the unexplainable loss and then, the unity, resolve and rebuilding...the healing. This day has been proclaimed as Patriot Day and we ask that you join the Nation and remember those lost to the tragic events that unfolded before the world on September 11, 2001.
