    The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Marin from 3PM Wednesday through 3AM Thursday.  A strong cold front will bring heavy rain Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning. Urban and small stream flooding will become likely along with rapid rises on main stem rivers. Small creeks and streams may rapidly rise near or above bankfull.

    Marin County Emergency Alert System

    All Marin residents must register their cell phones, VoIP phones, and landlines to receive emergency alerts by call, text, email, or app from Alert Marin. Register contact numbers for all family members so they’ll receive a warning when emergencies threaten your community. Practice evacuation drills regularly!

Special Hazards


    SpecialHazardBlackSpecial Hazard Systems are utilized in instances where a standard sprinkler system would be inappropriate for fire suppression. Examples of these instances may include: computer rooms, data storage faciliites, medical records,  museum exhibits, hostorical sites, flammable chemicals, etc.

    Submit to RVFD Administrative Office, 777 San Anselmo Avenue, San Anselmo, Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm:

    • Completed RVFD Plan Submittal Form
    • Two sets of architectural or engineered blue line drawings (wet-stamped and signed), two sets of cut sheets and calculations
    • The minimum plan review fee varies by applicant.  View current Fee Schedule.
    • These fees are the minimum charge for plan check and inspections for a typical application. Additional charges may be imposed for large projects and re-inspections, or failures to comply, which result in additional inspections.
    • Fees are due at the time of plan submittal and the accepted methods of payment include:




    • Expected turnaround time is 10 business days, there is no over-the-counter review.
    • Applicant will be notified by phone when plan review comments are ready. Completed plans can be picked-up at RVFD Administrative Office.
