A weather alert is being issued because of possible flooding in Marin over the next 72 hour period, with rain continuing tomorrow and expected to be heaviest from 7am to 7pm. Tomorrow, over 2” of rainfall accumulation is expected in most County areas with over 4” possible in higher terrain, northern, and coastal areas. Heavy rain and breezy conditions with gusts reaching 50 mph are still on track during Thursday’s system which is expected to also coincide with predicted high tides above 6.0-ft Mean Lower Low Water between 10:30am to 4:00pm. These weather conditions were confirmed by NWS meteorologist currently on duty. Expect longer commute times with possible power outages, increased chances for roadway flooding and flooding within poorly draining areas, in addition to debris flows in hilly terrain locations. Dry weather is currently forecast to return by 10pm tomorrow through at least next week.
