Welcome to Ross Valley Fire Department We are a consolidated fire agency protecting the communities of Ross, Fairfax, San Anselmo, and Sleepy Hollow in Marin County, California. Formed July 1, 1982, the full-time fire department employs a Fire Chief, Fire Inspector, Administrative Assistant, 34 Firefighters including nine Paramedics, and fifteen Volunteer Firefighters staffing three Advanced Life Support (ALS) engine companies.  Our Mission Protecting lives, property and the environment of Ross, San Anselmo, Sleepy Hollow, and Fairfax through education, prevention and community service while working together in a professional and caring manner that is fair, honest, respectful and ethical.

Ross Valley Fire Department wants to remind you that the fire season is here.  With the current drought situation, it is a good time to evaluate your property and make it a “Defensible Space” against the threat of wildfires.
